What's the Earth Worth?
Forged over 4.6 billion years, the Earth is stacked with valuable riches, from timber to cattle to gold. Together, these resources have built our greatest civilizations. But what if we could scan the planet as if it were in a checkout line, counting up every tree and every nugget of gold left on Earth in the biggest inventory ever attempted? This documentary will put a price tag on everything the planet has to offer, look at how much we’ve used through human history and how much is left, to reveal the absolute value of the Earth. TV-PG

Ask Obama Live: An MTV Interview With the President
This half-hour news special will feature MTV News correspondents Sway Calloway, who will sit down with the President in the White House, and Andrew Jenks, who will be on the ground at a college campus in Washington, D.C., with a group of young voters. The program is part of MTV’s engage the 45 million 18 to 29-year-olds eligible to vote in this election (making them the largest potential voting bloc in the country). MTV's "Ask Obama Live" will mark the first time in this campaign that either candidate has focused directly on those young voters' top concerns, including jobs, the cost of college, rising student loan debt, and social issues like LGBTQ rights and immigration. MTV has also invited Obama's opponent, Mitt Romney, to participate in a similar live special, and hopes to conduct a sit-down interview with him in advance of Election Day on November 6.

The Real Story of Halloween
Warning: This is a documentary, not a movie. Halloween began centuries ago as a pagan holiday that honored the dead and warned of a netherworld of spirits and ghosts. Today, it has morphed into a day for breaking rules, pushing boundaries and wearing disguises. But Halloween remains a time for us to deal with our own mortality. Our modern Halloween traditions have ancient roots--people were going door to door and begging for treats on Halloween night as far back as the Middle Ages. Halloweens past have been wilder and more dangerous than they are now. During the depression, Halloween became so violent and destructive that civil authorities had to step in and prevent wide-spread vandalism in cities across America. Their solution, the ritual now generates $2 billion dollars in candy sales each season. And these days adults get dressed up for the holiday almost as much as kids do. But no matter how many jack-o-lanterns get carved or kids yell "trick-or-treat!" Halloween is still all about the "scare." TV-PG
